WashingtonA stadium reached by water
At Husky Stadium, the approach can be part of the game: boats gather on Lake Washington before kickoff, turning arrival into a ritual of its own.The approach is the opening scene.
Most stadium traditions begin at a gate. Washington’s can begin on the water. Husky Harbor sits beside the stadium, so a Saturday can move from boat deck to dock to seats without losing sight of the lake.
That route changes the tempo. The stadium does not feel dropped into a generic entertainment district; it feels inseparable from Seattle and the university’s setting. The trip becomes a shared pregame memory before the first snap exists.
“A long-standing and unique tradition for Husky fans is to arrive at the stadium via boat.”
